Xander Schauffele was born in October 1993 in San Diego, California. He was raised by his parents, Ping-Yi-Chen and Stefan Schauffele. His dad, and mom, were both golfers. His mother is originally from Japan. She has earlier served as an aerospace engineer. While his father is a swing coach. His dad lost his left eye in a car accident. After that, he gave up on his golf career and focused on his son teaching him golf skills.
Regarding his education, he studied at Scripps Ranch High School. Following high school, he attended California State University Long Beach. He was later transferred to San Diego State University before beginning his sophomore year. Schauffele graduated from San Diego University in 2015.

Xander received the Big West Conference Freshman of the Year award while playing at California State University. Along with that, he received the First Team All-Big West award. Later on, he played golf at SDSU, and while playing there, he received the Mountain West Conference All-Academic Team Award twice.
In 2014, he competed at the California State Amateur Championship and won the title defeating Beau Hossler. Then, he again competed with Hossler at Beverly Country Club. However, he couldn’t win over Hossler in the final. Xander was ranked in the top 10 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
Schauffele began his professional golf career in June 2015. His professional career started after he competed in the 2015 Web.com Tour Qualifying Tournament. After that, he played at Southern Dunes GC where he finished in second place. In 2016, he was able to play on the Web.com Tour for a full season and appeared in 23 events. However, he couldn’t get a PGA Tour card for 2017 even after finishing in the top 30 on the regular season money list.
Xander later on the PGA Tour card after he played at the Web.com Tour Finals. His PGA Tour event debut came at the CareerBuilder Challenge. Following that, he competed at the 2017 U. S. Open. He reached 10 under par there and finished in a tie for fifth place. He subsequently earned an exemption into the 2018 championship.
Schauffele got his first PGA Tour win at the Greenbrier Classic in July 2017. After winning the title, he got an exemption into the Open Championship. Then, he qualified for the Tour Championship. At the golf event, he claimed his second tour victory by hitting birdie on the 72nd hole. After winning the title, he became the first rookie to win any FedEx Cup playoff event.
In August 2021, he won the Olympic gold medal over Slovakian Rory Sabbatini in the final. Following the victory at the Olympics, he became the first American to win an Olympic gold in golf since 1900. In 2022, he won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and the Travelers Championship. Xander started his 2024 season by competing at The Sentry. He finished tied in the tenth position at the golf event with Jason Day.

Xander Schauffele is married to his college sweetheart, Maya Lowe. He met Maya first time at college in 2014. The two exchanged wedding vows seven years later in July 2021 in Las Vegas. They kept their marriage ceremony intimate and only eight family members attended it.
Xander’s wife, Maya has worked as a healthcare administrator and currently working with the Xander Schauffele Family Foundation. In July 2022, she announced via Instagram that she would be more active in her husband’s foundation and also shared that she would look forward to making an impact through her work.
