Early Life

Sahith Theegala was born in December 1997 in Orange, California. He was raised by his parents, Karuna and Muralidhar. His dad is an engineer and has served at South Carolina’s Metropolitan Water District. Sahith’s parents are originally from India and immigrated to the U.S. in the late 1980s. As an amateur golfer, Sahith won three amateur golf tournaments, the Alister MacKenzie Invitational, the Southwestern Invitational, and the Australian Master of the Amateurs. He couldn’t play with Pepperdine for a long time due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At the end of the 2020 season, he led the University team ranked first place in the nation.

Before turning professional in June 2020, he received three awards, the Jack Nicklaus Award, the Ben Hogan Award, and the Haskins Award. With that, he became the fifth golfer ever to receive all three awards in a year. Sahith played his first professional game at the Outlaw Tour’s Lone Tree Classic in June 2020. Then, he attended the 2020 Safeway Open and finished T-14.

Sahith has been a three-time All-American at Pepperdine. When he was making waves on the golf course, Chan was setting new records in the pool. Chan set a new dive record at the Pacific Coast Swim in the 200-medley relay. She also won the Dive Conference Championship title in 2019.
