He had 7 top-25 finishes in the 2016 season. Denny remained on the Web.com Tour for the upcoming season after finishing outside the top 25 in the last season. He improved his game in the 2017 season and had 9 top-25 finishes. Denny recorded 4 top-10 finishes in 22 events.

Denny is often considered one of the best short-range putters. When he was asked about good short-range putting at the FedEx St. Jude Championship he shared that you need to have good control over speed on shorter putts. He further added making consistently shorter putts has helped him to match the speed and the line.

McCarthy shared that used to struggle with speed when he was playing as a junior. As he turned professional, he learned to hone and trust his instructions. He also stuck to his process and the more he worked on improving his game, the better his putting got. In 2023, he appeared at the Travelers Championship where he brushed off a sloppy bogey in the second hole. He also set the tournament’s 36-hole record at 15 under par. 

Even after performing well in the golf events, he is still searching for his maiden PGA Tour title. Denny faced a defeat in a playoff at the 2023 Memorial. McCarthy will be playing at the Rivera Country Club which is scheduled to take place from February 15.

Denny McCarthy has been married to his wife, Samantha Marzke since 2023. Marzke is currently working at the Zecca Group and Illustrated Properties. She is a Waterfront and Seaside Home specialist with a real estate company. Samantha is standing beside Denny giving him support, and encouragement. Before getting married, they dated for a few years. The pair announced their engagement via Instagram on May 16, 2023.

In December 2023, Denny shared a picture with his wife, Samantha. He captioned the Instagram post, “2023 has been a great year from getting married to the love of my life to getting my first Masters invite in the mail”. The pair currently resides in Jupiter, Florida with their two dogs, Dublin and Juno.
