Cameron Smith began his professional golf career in 2013 playing at the PGA Tour of Australasia. In 2014, he appeared on the Asian Tour and finished in the top-10. That same year, he played at the 2014 CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters. He had his best finish at the event tying for second. In October 2014, Smith made his PGA Tour event debut at the CIMB Classic.

In April 2015, he appeared in the RBC Heritage on a sponsor’s exemption and tied for 15th. After that, he qualified for the 2015 U. S. Open. He gave his best in the golf event recording a top 4 finish. His performance led him to enter the 2016 Masters Tournament. Along with that, he received a Special Temporary Membership for the remaining 2015 season.
